Weyerhaeuser Planning Forestry Supervisor in BC, Canada

Weyerhaeuser Princeton Timberlands is currently seeking applications from candidates who are interested and qualified to be part of our planning team. As the successful candidate, you will be part of an empowered and professional team that manages forestry operations in the Similkameen and Okanagan Regions of Southern British Columbia. The team is responsible for providing the Weyerhaeuser sawmill in Princeton and other wood using facilities in the region with 1.2 million m3/year of wood from TFL 59, forest licenses, management agreements and wood purchases.

Key Functions:

Your assignment will be based out of our Princeton office working within the Planning Team:

The Planning Teamis responsible for strategic and operational planning. Duties that are managed by this team include: * Road layout and Cutting Permit design including preparation of Site Plans; * Cutting and Road Permit applications, appraisal analysis, and electronic submissions to government; * Supervising consultants to facilitate achieving developed timber objectives; * Maintaining and developing positive relationships with team members, government agencies, stakeholders, First Nations and the general public; * Landscape level planning, tracking of Annual Allowable Cut, and timber supply analysis; * The maintenance and approval of Forest Stewardship Plans.

  • Demonstrated leadership in safety;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, and develop effective working relationships;
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member;
  • Registered or eligible for ABCFP registration;
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience is preferred in forest operations or operational planning;
  • GIS experience would be considered an asset. About Princeton:
