Weyerhaeuser's Northern Timberlands has an opening for an Area Manager in New England. The position has flexibility to be based out of either Bingham, Maine or Greenville, Maine and will report directly to the General Manager of Northern Timberlands. The New England Area is approximately 950,000 acres across Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont and has a team of 25 professionals. This role is responsible for the leadership and execution of the New England strategic operating plan and has responsibility for all New England operations.
The role is responsible for the management of safety, environmental stewardship, quality, production, and costs associated with New England's operations. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Oversight of all operational activities and business results for the team; financial performance; culture for how work is completed; practicing effective communication; establishing and maintaining processes; driving alignment for crisp execution. * Champion our values, our vision, mission and regional roadmaps including safety, environmental stewardship, business ethics, operational excellence, inclusion, innovation, customer value and people development. * Set clear expectations, manage measurable and time bound goal setting, provide constructive feedback through proactive communication. * Collaborate by partnering across organizational/functional boundaries to optimize the entire supply chain, drive operational excellence and replicate best practices. * Partner with internal Weyerhaeuser Corporate Development, Real Estate and Natural Resources teams to optimize the value of alternative value streams from the New England assets. * Dedicate time in the field providing support to Operations Staff and Independent Contractor base
- Four-year degree preferred and minimum 8 years related job experience.
- Clear demonstration of leadership skills to engage a diverse organization, drive continuous improvement, develop people and create a great place to work.
- Track record of achievement through effective collaboration and utilization of resources within the business and from outside stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen, including the use of key financial and business metrics to identify opportunities and drive results.
- Excellent communication and relationship skills; proven ability to build, support and guide change initiatives through others
- Proficient presenter, communicator and user of MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Valid driver's license, as work involves driving company vehicles to perform normal work duties.
