Weyerhaeuser Reliability Specialist in Grifton, North Carolina

Weyerhaeuser’s Southern Lumber manufacturing mills are seeking a Reliability Specialist to be an integral member of the multi-site leadership teams. The Reliability Specialist provides technical expertise to support the mill from a reliability performance, customer expectation, and product quality standpoint.

Key Functions:

  • Lead, promote, and demonstrate a strong focus and personal commitment to safety and adherence to the business standard manufacturing practices (SMP) at all times
  • This position is responsible for leading the precision maintenance Systems (Core 4 SMP, Continuous Improvement efforts); optimizing and maintaining Machine Center s uptime and rate as planned.
  • This position is responsible for ensuring all new projects are in precision state condition based on the Core 4 SMP’s prior to being put into operation
  • Problem-solving on a continual basis; maintaining relationships with 3rd parties i.e., vendors, certification bodies, customers; working in conjunction with corporate technical staff and keeping up to date with current technical trends.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement in safety, reliability, and cost
  • Lead precision alignments on all primary break downs, curve sawing and planing operations on a quarterly basis until each mill is self sufficient in performing this precision work
  • Actively involved in the development of team members through training, coaching, and regular performance evaluations, and feedback
  • Work with Reliability Manager in development of critical SMP (Core 4) training for all sites via Vendor.

  • High School diploma- BS degree highly preferred

  • Knowledge of Lumber wood product manufacturing processes is preferred.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of technical experience
  • Able to travel up to 70%
  • Must have a track record of consistently demonstrating leadership & supervisory skills as well as positive influence and accomplishments in safety, quality, productivity, change management, and people development
  • Must be proactive in process improvements and have excellent follow-through in meeting commitments
  • Must be able to prioritize and multitask with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to meet timelines and deal tactfully and courteously with business stakeholders
  • Thorough knowledge of the following systems (SMP’s understanding, SAP CMMS Maintenance systems). HIGHLY desirable
  • Knowledge and use of equipment used for precision state (ultrasonics, laser alignment, balancing, lubrication, fasteners and vibration)
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and engage Associates in a high-performance self-directed environment.

What We Offer:

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $104,300 to $156,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications, and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 15% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees can enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with paid vacation for up to 3 weeks to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 hours along with paid parental leave for all full-time employees
