Weyerhaeuser Company is searching for a Shift Team Coordinator Trainee for the Arcadia Oriented Strand Board (OSB) facility in Simsboro, Louisiana. The pay range will be $20-25/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Arcadia OSB is located in the Sportsman's Paradise of Lincoln Parish in north central Louisiana. It is situated near Ruston and Grambling, Louisiana, home to Louisiana Tech and Grambling State Universities. The mill is located 20 minutes west of Ruston, 45 minutes west of Monroe, 55 minutes east of Shreveport, and an hour south of the Louisiana/Arkansas state line.

The Team Coordinator Trainee will cross train to backfill and provide coverage as a Team coordinator which is responsible for the safety, production, and quality goals of a production team in an OSB manufacturing facility. The Team Coordinator Trainee works a rotating shift with a team of hourly associates providing direct leadership. The position must be committed to leading continuous improvement in safety, reliability, cost management, process improvement, production flows, contingent staffing, and housekeeping.

Key Functions:

• Responsible for providing daily leadership and oversight of hourly production employees in an OSB manufacturing facility.
• Ensure the safe and efficient execution of work.
• Ensure proper job and safety rules are understood by team and followed by all associates.
• Role model safe work practices and lead safety and other team meetings.
• Meet production standards and goals.
• Actively be involved in coverage for flow to work scheduling and assigning work.
• Support cross training initiatives to increase talent depth on team.
• Support, coach, and provide timely feedback and direction to associates.
• Manage downtime events.
• Understand the process flow, have the ability to positively impact reliability, and provide pro-active solutions to issues.

• Will report directly to the operations manager with an area functional supervisor acting as a shift sponsor.

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Strong leadership skills that include a proven ability to coach employees to a higher level of performance
• Excellent people skills with a result-oriented focus required
• Proactive with the ability to work with minimum supervision
• A team player who can effectively work with other leadership to achieve production & quality goals
• Good planning, organizational skills, and problem-solving capabilities a must
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Participate in safety initiatives, including exhibiting safe work practices and helping others work safely
• Must be computer literate with experience in Microsoft program suite
• Must be willing to work a rotating shift, to include weekends and holidays
• Must be willing to cover vacations as needed
• Must be able to pass requirements for writing hot works and confined spaces
• Must be able to champion safety and Process Reliability consistently

Preferred:

• Associate’s degree (or higher) in Business, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
• Leadership/management experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
